The Society of Critical Care Nurses of Kenya was registered as an independent entity on 2026 under the registrar of Societies act(Cap 108) in Kenya.Previously this is a group that was a dependent chapter under the Nurses National association. The goal of the society is to improving critical care standards and advocating for nurses' educational needs in Kenya. Membership is drawn from all critical care nurses from both public and private organisations at multiple levels all the way from diploma to PHD working in clinical,academic,research based,out of hospital entities
We are a specialty based society for the Critical Care Nurses in Kenya with representation all over the country representing both the public and private based critical care nurses with the goals of establishing, Maintaining and Promoting high standards of clinical practice in Critical care,Collaborating with regulatory bodies in developing specialised curricula and certification in critical care, Facilitating continuous Professional Development programs and research for critical care and Representing the interests of critical care nurses in critical care forums
We aim to improving patient care educate nurses on related critical care nursing topics, engage in community service, and provide a platform for professional support. While progress has been made, the full impact remains to be seen.
Critical Care Nursing has grown significantly, expanding from a few hospitals with ICUs to a nationwide presence, though critical care bed capacity remains insufficient. The vision is to establish fully equipped critical care units in every hospital or county. The field has a strong legacy, with Critical Care Nurses playing a crucial role in healthcare development, including curriculum development in Kenya.
To be the leading professional body of critical care providers that contributes to international standardized nursing care regionally and beyond.
To promote excellence in Critical Care Nursing practice and leadership through education, research and collaboration with other critical care providers by benchmarking against best practices.

The 2026 Annual Scientific Conference will be held at The Mavvel Hotel, Embu on 1st and 2nd October 2026.
The theme for the 2026 Annual Scientific conference is: Think Global, Act Local. Changing perspectives in Critical Care.
Conference charges are as follows: Members - Ksh. 14,000, Non Members Ksh. 17,000 and Students Ksh.8,000
